Eleni Koroneou Gallery was founded in 1989 in Athens, focusing on contemporary art and hosting innovative and pioneering shows across a variety of media and genres. Eleni Koroneou has followed a consistent and demanding program, with commitment and a sense of responsibility, it has succeeded in presenting the work of international artists who were exhibiting for the first time in Greece, such as George Condo, Helmut Middendorf, Dieter Roth, Michael Schmidt, Martin Kippenberger, Michel Majerus, Christopher Wool and Gregory Crewdson. At the same time, it has supported and promoted Greek artists abroad by taking part at art fairs and maintaining contact with international collectors and curators. Along with a few other galleries it took on the role of education and promotion of contemporary art in Greece.
