Since 2018 Art Athina collaborates with the Young Patrons of the Museum of Cycladic Art to organize visits to studios of artists living and working in Athens. Furthermore, during the pandemic the program continued through the Art Athina Virtual Studios where the Young Patrons had the chance to also meet Greek artists living abroad, such as Konstantin Kakanias in Los Angeles and Panos Tsagkaris in New York.
Since 2017 Art Athina Residency Program invites international artists represented by the exhibiting galleries in the sections Highlights and Feature of the fair, to spend 30 days in Athens. The artists get to know the city and get inspired and create the artworks that will be presented later at the art fair. In the past years, Art Athina has hosted artists from Europe, United States and Australia.
